Right As Rainbow

I am so thrilled at the opportunity to share a fantastic designer and her unique collection of Cardigans.

Stephanie Lotven is originally from Ozark, Missouri. She began knitting shortly after graduating from college and never managed to stop. Not long after learning to knit, Stephanie embarked on an epic Asian adventure. She moved to South Korea, traveled in Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam and then moved back to Korea, all the while, knitting and knitting and knitting.
Not long after the birth of her daughter, nicknamed ‘Tellybean,’ Stephanie became discouraged by her baby girl’s lack-luster wardrobe. “It needs some spice!” she declared. In an effort to shnazzy up Tellybean’s wardrobe, Stephanie began designing knitting patterns for babies. Thus, TellybeanKnits was born.
After 5 years abroad, Stephanie is back in the USA, chasing Tellybean all over Indiana. She continues to design baby patterns and has expanded her line to child and adult sizes.

I love Stephanie's inspiration for her design collection.  What a better way to show love for your baby girl than to design a sweater for her!!  It is just adorable and the perfect way to create a special sweater that your child can have for a life time.  With the small strips of color that she has used in the yolk of the design, you could really use up some small left over pieces of yarn that you just can not part with.  I love this idea!  The cardigan just screams a day at the park to me.

Talk about versatility; she has not only created the Baby size, but she has also given you the opportunity to knit as your child grows.  This is the Child size and it is just as cute as the Baby size.  So to put the cherry on top of this sundae, you can have a Mother and child matching Cardigan.

When you purchase of one or ALL three in her collection you will be delighted to know that you will have such clarity in her patterns.  Stephanie has gone as far as to have full picture details of individual steps to make sure that nothing leaves you with confusion.  Detailed and easy to knit your way through what ever size sweater you choose to knit.  I am already planning my 'Mother & Daughters Cardi's'. I will be knitting all three this year.

Good thing I have at least until the end of May before our second little girl is born, plenty of time to knit these adorable creations. RIGHT??!!

Hats Yeah!

| Monday, February 2, 2015
Welcome back "My Readers"!  It has been a long and wonderful holiday.  I am so pleased to be starting 2015 with some amazing new reviews that I think you will all really enjoy.

I am doing great.  Baby #2 is due May 25th and our little family of three will soon be complete with four.  My husband and I could not be more thrilled that we will have two little girls to raise and share our lives with.

Lets start off with a BANG!

I am so pleased to be sharing a new-to-me designer that I am just over the moon for her patterns!
Justyna Lorkowska is a designer of many amazing knits. Everything from sweaters to hats and all the in between.

"This hat collection is for all those special single skeins you have in your stash. Including fingering weight, DK, Worsted and Bulky, this collection offers a hat for every mood and season."
~J.L~

This collection is spectacularly written.  She is so clear and takes the time to make sure every detail is explained.  I can very much appreciate her easy to read charts and the flow of knitting them.  I am currently knitting the Martin Hat.  I picked a fingering weight skein that had cashmere in it and am enjoying every stitch!

Let me take a moment to share with you her collection in this pattern book that is downloadable on Ravelry.

Martin is a cabled fingering weight beanie just perfect for Spring.

This is currently flying off my needles!  Everyone has that special skein of sock yarn that needs to be something other than socks.  So why not start knitting a spring hat for this year!!

Gilderoy is a slouchy DK weight hat featuring cabled panels, seed stitch and topped off with a pompom.

Antares is a worsted weight fair-isle hat offering two sizes and the choice of beanie or slouchy.

This will be my next hat on the needles.  I am thinking this would make great "Brother-in-law" birthday gifts.

Montgomery is a worsted weight slouchy featuring one large ‘Montgomery’ cable surrounded by smaller cable details. Pompom or not, you decide.

Roisin is a bulky weight hat offered in three sizes featuring a drop stitch pattern.

I am sure you can find a few hats from this collection if not all of them that you would like to seasonally knit your way through.  One of you readers will have just that opportunity!

Hats Yeah! receive a 5 Needle Review Rating!
Thank you again Justyna Lorkowska for sharing your fantastic Hat collection!
