REVIEW 1 OF 2

Its such a treat to share with you all today a remarkable independent yarn company that was started with a group of friends who have a love for the fiber arts!

I bet some of you will recognize these talented ladies for sure.

Christa, Tammy, Ester, and Ginger started Show Me Yarn in the summer of 2014.  We have been friends for many years now thanks to our shared love of fiber arts.  We started playing with dyeing using food dyes several years ago just for fun and to see what would happen.  One of the best things about knitting and spinning is the beautiful colors of yarn and fiber, so it seemed only natural to continue down the dyeing road.  Tammy, Ester, and Ginger took a class with Peggy Doney of the 100th Sheep and came home full of inspiration.  They shared stories of their experience with Christa, who then grabbed everyone and plunged us over the edge into starting Show Me Yarn.
We have focused our color inspiration on the state of Missouri, which is where our name comes from, as well as our logo since the Dogwood is the state flower.  Most of the names of our bases and yarn have references to places, sayings, or events that are specific to the Ozarks.
When we started, we wanted to focus on getting a wide range of tonals that would make beautiful sweaters and shawls and to become your custom yarn shop.  We really want to be able to meet our customers’ needs by offering large quantities of a specific color, or by working with them to develop that elusive color they can’t find anywhere else.  We love for our customers to come to us and say, “Show Me Yarn!”

You all are going to love this skein of yarn that they have sent for the review.
It is the perfect 'Show me Yarn' color.

I just love the fact that this is a "Tammy" colored skein.   A deep, rich red with twists of back intermixed.  Not only is it the color perfect, but the name is as well, "Heart of the Ozarks." They have kept all the color inspiration and names related to the region that they live in; drawing inspiration from all over nature, history and more.

This particular sock yarn base is great for socks with that nylon for strength, but it is still very soft and would make great; scarves, shawls or mitts.  I tell you what, I bet this yarn would be perfect for any project.  I could easily see this knit up into several project ideas that I have In my Ravelry Queue.

Show Me Yarn can be found on Etsy for purchase.  They have some amazing colorways in the shop and do offer custom orders to fit all of your large project needs.  I think you will find some amazing bases and colors that you just might want to try out for yourself.  Personally, I could take a full sweaters worth of the featured color, I just love it!!!!
