Happy Monday Readers!  I trust you are all ready to start the week of right with a fantastic review.  I am so pleased to share with you all the featured yarn from Sapphires-n-Purls

A bit about our featured designer;

"I love to dye almost as much as I love to knit! You can find my store here: http://sapphiresnpurls.storenvy.com/

I enjoy visiting yarn shops wherever my travels take me, and I love yarn! No matter where I go, I search out yarn shops, large and small. My stash contains enough yarn to open my own store. Someday, I plan to use it all up. Maybe :) I have a real problem finishing projects, because I get bored quickly and often am distracted by new yarns and things I want to try. I tend to stick to small projects to help me stay on track and finish them.

I love natural fiber yarns for the most part, and almost never use yarn with acrylic, etc. I am a self confessed yarn snob, but at times can be lured into loving a synthetic yarn or two. I love looking at knitting books and magazines, and have amassed a rather large collection of both over the years. I have so many knitting notions, I am always surprised at what I find when I go in search of something. I like to ‘shop’ in my own stash of knitting paraphernalia. I am obsessed with anything relating to knitting. I always give a good look at clothing in the store that is knit, particularly cables! I have been known to be caught staring at a sweater on the person in front of me in the check out line."

Superwash Merino Sock DK

DK / 8 ply (11 wpi)
 230 yards / 100 grams
US 5 - 7 or 3.75 - 4.5mm
100% Merino

A deliciously soft and springy sock yarn that is perfect for socks, shawls, scarves or any project you like!

This has got to be one of the softest DK sock yarn I have seen in a while.  The plies are twisted in such a way that the fiber has a great deal of squish and give to it.  I am really thinking this is my new DK Go-To sock yarn!  She does such a great job with her colors as well.  These are hand painted so they are going to have slight variation with each skein, that makes them all the more fun when you knit them.  If you did not make socks with this yarn, you could sure get away with any pattern that is next to the skin.  When I hold it I just want to keep squishing the skein, I love how it springs back to life.  I just love her color way names, you should really check them all out!!

Floops Stitch Markers - as soft and flexible as your knitting

| Monday, February 17, 2014

Happy Monday Readers!  I hope that you all enjoyed Valentines Day with those you love and appreciate.  This weeks review is a fun one that I think everyone will want to try out.

Our creative designer~Christy

"The idea for Floops was born out of mild to moderate frustration. Mass-produced stitch markers you find on the market today are hard and coarse. Handmade stitch markers are generally lovely but just as 'blunt'- and equally hard to maneuver. I dread coming across one in my knitting - and having to scramble clumsily over it. Soft lovely knitting, soft lovely knitting and then BANG - yuck - full stop - handfulls of plastic or metal. "

Floops are as soft as your knitting.
They won't save the world but I think you'll enjoy using them - and looking at them!
Floops are lovingly handmade in the beautiful mountains of Vermont

She has a VIDEO that shows the ease of movement with her markers.  You will love the smooth texture and just how nice they really are.  I loved that she has several size options, as we all know you can never have to many stitch markers.  Different projects require larger or smaller markers and this is the perfect solution.  Easy to use, fun colors that are easy to mark starting and ending points, what is not to love.  If you have not already gotten you hands on these hot little items, snatch up a pair today.

Posh Yarn is run by husband & wife team, Trudie & Tony Bamford, from their home in West Wales.

Tony is the artist behind Posh Yarn. He is passionate about dyeing and colour, and has developed his own special style and method of dyeing, which results in brilliant colour and subtle variations.

We are based on the beautiful South Pembrokeshire coastline, close to one of the most popular beaches in Wales. The coast and surrounding countryside provide inspiration for many of our colourways.

All our colourways are unique, one-offs, unrepeated, and dyed in small dye lots. We believe in individuality, creativity, and working with the best materials that you possibly can. We hope that our yarn reflects the love, joy, and inspiration that we put into every skein.

Oh oh Owl

Oh Oh Owl

Today I am featuring the cutest children's sweater by, Kasia Smolak
This is a pattern that is so playful and fun for any kid. You can put your own spin on each sweater by; choosing the sleeve length, buttons or not, and the color of the bow.  I was so pleased to help out with editing of the final draft of this pattern that I know how well the directions are and just how clear Kasia describes the sweater construction.  I am so looking forward to making this sweater from my little girl, I think I will be putting a purple bow on her sweater!

Kasia has such a creative eye for creating fun and practical children's sweaters.  Make sure you check out some of the other patterns that she has out, she has some really elegant shawls.  I took a look at her blog and she has just made the most classy and modern cable sweater that would be perfect over a pair of leggings, love it.

Thank you again to Kasia  for such a fantastic review of her pattern!!
