Manic Pixie Dream Yarn

| Monday, March 31, 2014
Good afternoon Readers!!!  I hope you are getting your Monday off on the right foot, doing some kind of knitting or crafting today.  I am so excited to share with you the many colors and shades of the rainbow today.  Manic Pixie Dream Yarns (Bex) has out done her self with the best looking self striping rainbow I have ever had the chance to get my hands on.  I am pleased to tell you that she has it up in her shop TODAY for you to get your hands on and start knitting a little color into your life.

Fingering / 4 ply
400 yards (366 meters)

US 0 - 3 or 2 - 3.25mm

80% Merino /20% Nylon

I love the idea of small single color stripes intermixed with the dark black.  It makes me think of a storm.  This was such a fun knit and to see the transitions almost every round of my knitting was so unique.  The base she uses is so soft as well, and I love the added strength of nylon to all my socks.  I have washed these socks already and am happy to share that they are the same color and had no trouble with colors bleeding at all.  Bex really does a stellar job when she set her colors!!!

I used a basic textured stitch and a short row heal to allow the yarn to do all the magic for me.  Look how sharp her color transitions are.  For those of you who have never died yarn, that is quite the labor intensive task, and she does it so seamlessly.
Really...does it get any more fun than this!!!!
And if you really needed more reason to have your own pair of rainbow socks, she has a twist to offer!!!

I'd make socks! I have no self-striping yarn and this is much prettier than some I've seen.

I'd make socks of any of the colorways, they are all lovely.

I would love to make the pole dance socks from these... its a cool pattern and would look awesome in this yarn paired with a solid color.

Socks without a doubt. Plain vanilla socks, cuz any type of patterning would be gilding the lily of that amazing colorway.

I'd definitely make the Hermione's Every Day socks with this yarn. The texture to the socks would be absolutely gorgeous with this colorway!

I love the way the this yarn stripes so evenly...I would use it for similar socks as shown on your blog as it shows the colors beautifully.

I follow this blog, but don't have a website or google account.

I'd use this for a scarf, I'm queer and would love to be able to show off the amazing rainbowness to the other people in my GSA. I'm slowly catching on to various knitting techniques and there's some wonderful lace patterned scarves I'd love to try with this.
