Happy Monday Readers!

I hope that you all enjoyed yourselves over the Christmas Holiday, I know my family and I sure did.  Looking ahead to the New Year, I find myself thinking about all the wonderful things that I want to knit this year.  I am so excited I already have a spread sheet of all the gifts that I need to make this year. ( Can we say, "Crazy")  With all the great projects that I have in mind, I am thrilled to share a new yarn to me that I think you all should really love.

Paige is the amazing designer behind Good for Ewe Yarns.

She has a passion for color and the finer fiber in life.  The yarns that I am showing you today are Super Wash, Baby llama and nylon.  Work horse yarn with the feel of a llama in your yarn!

Kettle Steps

Fingering / 4 ply
 414 yards /100 grams
 US 1 - 2½ or 2.25 - 3mm
40% Merino /40% Llama /20% Nylon

The kettle dying of this yarn is so stunning you really need to see them in person to get the full beauty and body of the color.  She has such a soft tone to her dying it is amazing!

 Sultry Steps

Fingering / 4 ply
 414 yards /100 grams
 US 1 - 2½ or 2.25 - 3mm
40% Merino /40% Llama /20% Nylon

Noticing a trend in the fiber content?  This is the same base as above, these are her solid dyes.  So deep and rich. This orang is a true tangerine color, amazing!!

Currently she is only selling to shops, however I linked to her group on Ravelry and you can find all about how you too can get your hands on a skein or two.

Lara Smoot Designs

Happy Monday readers!!!  Today I am so excited to share you with a fantastic new sock pattern that really has a flare for the winter months.  Lara Smoot is the designer that has creatively designed this sock pattern.  If any of you know me, my first love is 'sock knitting'.  I always have a pair of socks on the needles that goes with me when ever I leave the house.  I know several of you share my obsession for sock knitting as well.

"I started designing and writing patterns as a way to express my love for the beautiful yarns that find their way into my stash. I love being able to create a new design for a special yarn. I hope that you will enjoy knitting my patterns as much as I have enjoyed designing them."

The pattern is called;

 Frost Bite

This pattern is perfect for those single skeins of variegated sock yarn that you just can't seem to find the right pattern for.  It really shows off the color changes well and at the same time has some basic patterning that really make everything pop.  I love the look of the sock and that it is easy to remember the pattern while knitting.

Her inspiration comes from: reminiscent of the frost patterns on the windows in my childhood home in Maine

Laura does an amazing job of writing her patterns.  I found her pattern to be a delight to read and it really made my sock knitting of this pattern a joy.  I am sure that you all have a skein of yarn in mind by now that would pair perfectly with this pattern!  So...Head on over to Ravelry and purchase this pattern, or gift it to one of your Ravelry buddies for a Christmas gift.  We all know the feeling of getting a 'Surprise' gifted Ravelry pattern in our inbox from a friend.

Thank you again to Lara for such a fantastic review yarn!!

Everyone take a look at her shop and see what other patterns you just might need to have

Readers, I am very excited to be able to bring you a unique yarn.  What makes this yarn different from any other skein you might be asking?  Allow me to share my new find with you.

"Dying pooling stripes is the perfect marriage between my love for color and affinity for structured design.  I've developed a system that involves kettle dying each color individually.  Although time consuming, this technique gives the yarn a structured delineation of color changes while preserving the wonderful undulations and subtle variations in color that develop in small kettle dyed batches.
I've always felt that creating what you love is the nest business strategy.  Knitting with these swirling stacking stripes of color is so addicting and brings me such joy- I'm ecstatic to finally be able to share this yarn with all of the color loving knitters out there!

Happy second week of December Readers!  Snow has started to fall for any of you and the season is shining bright.  It makes me brew up a cup of tea before sitting down to knit theses days.

This week we have TWO reviews.  The first is Rose Oak Designs.  Sarah is the adorable designer that has created the cutest project bags.  They are all done up in holiday print and are a must have for any small project.  I think they are the perfect sock bags.  If you are traveling over the river and through the woods to Grandmothers house this year for the holidays, this would be perfect to slip your socks in and throw in your purse/bag.

She has done such a great job with the fun festive prints, its is really hard to say no to such a cute bag.  Here are a few that she has in the shop at the moment.

I know that we all have that person in our lives who has mentioned that they would love to learn how to knit, right?  Why not give the gift of a starter kit!

* A 'Rose Oak Designs' bag
*A set of knitting needles
*A fun skein of yarn
*A set of stitch markers
*Your favorite knitting pattern

All of the items can be placed inside these adorable bags and gifted to that friend that you really want to help learn to knit. (Or really help them understand our obsession!)

I don't normally talk pricing on my reviews, but at $10.00 a bag, these will not be in the shop for long.  Make sure you head over to the shop and pick up one today.
