With the incredibly soft touch and the sheer halo that surrounds this yarn, you could easily find some amazing projects to knit with it.  Here are a few projects that have been knitted so you can get a real sense and be inspired.

This cowl is easily "Next to Skin Soft"!

I have only wonderful things to say about this yarn line.  Besides the feel of it in your hands, working with it on the needles was a joy as well. The yarn has just the right amount of twist to show off great stitch definition as well as give the garment a grate drape.

Stray Cat Socks

| Monday, October 21, 2013

Welcome back all to all my readers and to the new readers, "welcome!"  I am so glad that you all continue to come back week after week to see what is new and what you must have.  This weeks review is no exception to the greatness of fun yarn.

Tracy Filmer-Clark and her husband are the designers that run Stray Cat Socks.

Who does not love the idea of always having a pair of striped socks on the needles.  They are fantastic for portable knitting and can easily keep you entertained as you knit each color change, transitioning from strip to strip.  It is so fun to show others your hand knit striped socks and watch the reaction when they don't believe that you really made them!

" Absolutely crazy about dyeing and knitting yarn. I love trying out new colour combinations and then knitting them up - or seeing other people knitting with them.
My favourite time of day: The evening, watching a good mini series (usually BBC or Danish) with a birman cat on my lap and knitting my latest project. "
~Tracy~

Now that I have sparked your attention, let me show you some amazing stripes!!!

These amazingly dyed color combination yarns are not only eye catching but very sock worthy yarns.  The makings of these yarns are as follows:

Fingering / 4 ply
 437 yards/100 grams
 US 1 - 2 or 2.25 - 2.75mm
75% Wool & 25% Nylon

For me, this is the perfect combination ratio of wool to nylon.  This way you are not going to be walking holes in your socks any time soon.  And they will wash up really nicely.
...Did I mention that I am in love with all her color combinations, I do not see how you could not pick up at least 4 new colors for socks!

As if this yarn could be any better, Tracy has created what I think is the perfect gift package!  Now that could include a gift titled; "From Me, To Me"  I have to admit that I do that kind of gifting way to often.  This would also make for a great swap gift for a friend in a club or just a Christmas gift for a knitter.  Take a look and see what I am talking about!

The perfect Sock Kit!!!

Like I was saying...this is the perfect sock kit!!  If you have not already jumped over to her website already, STOP...and do it now!!  Make sure that you snag the perfect color for your next pair of socks.

Thank you again to Tracy Filmer-Clark for such a fantastic review of her yarn!!
Time to stock up on some new and beautiful striped yarns.

Willy the Wily Fox

Hello readers, I am so amazed that October is almost over already!  Time starts to fly when you get to the Holiday season.  So in the spirit of the next holiday, Halloween, I thought we would have a pattern review that is almost costume like.  So with out further jabber, this is the Willy the Wily Fox pattern.

Kasia is the woman who designed this adorable hooded jacket.  I love the way that is a functional jacket for a little one but has some personality that makes it different from just a normal hooded jacket!  What kid would not look adorable in this jacket going to school this fall.  I mean really, how adorable.

The pattern is downloadable through Ravelry and would make a fun gift pattern as well.  I love the fact that the pattern calls for bulky yarn for two reasons.  First, it will make for a really warm jacket and second, this will be a fast knit.  Perfect pattern for a weekend at the beach house or the cabin in the mountains.  Can you tell I'm looking forward to some get away weekends soon!

Over all, I love the pattern and think I will be knitting one for my new little one and for a friends baby as well.

Thank you again to Kasia  for such a fantastic review of her pattern!!

WaterColours & Lace

This weeks yarn review is a beauty to behold.  I have the privilege of reviewing
 Watercolours and Lace

"I started knitting lace scarves and shawlettes in late 2010. I had been buying yarns from indie dyers but, as I wasn’t always getting the effects I wanted, started to dye my own. Now I’m offering my yarns for sale on Etsy under the brand Watercolours and Lace. My Etsy shop will eventually also feature my own designs, plus prints and cards from my other main hobby, botanical watercolour painting - hence the name! My love of flowers and the landscape shows in the colours of the hand painted yarns I produce, and I give many of them a flower/landscape related name."

~Julie ~

Norfolk Skies

Raspberry Crush

She has so many colors and bases that she offers, I think you will find a few that you would like to try.  I love how muted these colors and how they are tonal in one shade and then sharing coordinating shades as well.  Both the bases that are featured here are amazingly soft and hold color really well.  It also showed off the shine of the yarn!

Each of these yarns would make amazing shawls that show texture and pattern.  Fall is here now is the time to order up some Watercolours & Lace yarn and get knitting those amazing shawls.

Thank you again to Julie for such a fantastic review of her yarn!!
Time to stock up on some new and beautiful colored yarns.
