Sheepish Yarns

| Saturday, June 22, 2013

I am so pleased to share with you all this weeks review.  Susan Shay Brugger is the woman that is the creator of this fantastic yarn.  She has a fantastic Etsy shop that carries yarns and fibers for you enjoyment.  The yarn that I am happy to show you is her

Big Foot

Fingering / 4 ply
500 yards / 125 grams
75% Wool
25% Nylon
She has been successful in machine washing garments made from this yarn in cold water/cold rinse, with the garment in a lingerie bag. (Use the gentle cycle.) Even so, she  recommends hand washing in cool water and a cool rinse, then drying flat.

Think of the fun fall socks you could use this yarn for.  Something that has a really heavy pattern to, a Cookie A pattern for example would be fantastic!  Or how about a stunning shawl...I know I would have to find a great sock pattern for my taste.

Thank you again to Susan for such a fantastic review of her yarn!!
Make sure that you all hop on over to her shop and take a look today!

Cat Mountain Fiber Arts

| Friday, June 14, 2013

Cat Mountain Fiber Arts specializes in natural finer yarns, lovingly hand-painted by Kimberly in her studio in Alamosa, Colorado.  Her exclusive colorways are inspired by literature, art, nature, and especially by Kimberly's surroundings in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Southern Colorado.

Most popular of her line of Cat Mountain Fiber Arts is;

 Fusion Hand-Painted Yarn

CMFA yarn is a unique and innovative combination of two to ten different yarns of different natural finers/textures, skeined and dyed together for a delicious effect of color and texture fusion.

As you can see by the large list of amazing fibers that are in this skein, you can only guess at all the endless options you would have for projects to knit!!  So amazing to hold in your hand and feel all the textures.

They also have several free patterns to support the yarns, including a hat, shawl, wraps and a vest.  They even recently met with Sandra McIver, of the beautiful Knit Swirl book, and obtained permission to develop a special kit using Cat Mountain Fiber Arts Yarn for one of the jackets in her book!!  Be looking for that in the near feature!!

Thank you again to Kimberly for such a fantastic review of her yarn!!
