I am pleased to introduce you to Todd & Susan of Hide and Sheep.

I was really excited to come across our next product review.  This is something everyone uses, yet it is something that is totally different than I have ever seen.  I think you will be pleasantly surprised as well as intrigued at the craftiness of this product.  Come and take a look at what I mean.

Stitch Marker/Row Counter all in one!!

This row counter marker is dangle free and can count up to 10 rows. Unlike the long "chain" style row counting markers, this marker stays close to your needles.

Easy to use:

This counter has a single needle ring which features our Speed Loop design, making it easy to move from needle to needle and 10 numbered beads with a movable marker to track your rows. Just move the marker over the next numbered bead as you complete each row.

Tiny and light weight, perfect for all knitting projects.

This marker fits up to a size US 5.

This is perfect for something as light weight as shawls or even socks when you might be doing some very detailed cable patterns. 

 

It is so easy, each time you finish a row, you simply slip the beaded jewel ring over the row number you have just completed.  It really can not get much easier than that.  Not to mention when you are at knitting group with all your fellow knitters and they happen to notice your marker/counter hanging from your needles.  They too might want to have one of these hand little counters.  You will be the talk of knit club!

I do have to mention that I am a nut for great packaging!  Hide and Sheep has met my expectations in this area.  Each marker comes packaged in it's own tin that has a lid that will not fall off.  It will hold your marker and make it portable in any knitting project bag.

Boo-Knits Pattern

I am so excited about this pattern review.  Please let me introduce to you a very talented designer,

Boo-Knits

She goes by Generous-Gardener in Ravelry and what a collection of designs she has created.  I am sure at some point while searching through Ravelry you have all come across one of her patterns.  You may not have known it was Boo-Knits, but I would bet you all have favorited at least one of her shawls at one time. 

A note from the designer, "There are few better feelings in life than deciding on a pattern, a yarn and a colour and creating a thing of beauty and balance that is not only pleasing to the eye but is use able, wearable and functional. Knitting is not a hobby - it is a way of life, a way of destressing, finding peace and rhythm and a wonderful way to share with people in every corner of the world. If world leaders were knitters …"

The Shawl pattern that I was able to review was

Cloud Illusions

This pattern is delicate and elegant and really shows off a lighter look of shawls.  As you will see, this could really be worn over any type of outfit.  It could be used as a layering piece or something to kiss the tops of your shoulders on a warm summers eve.

The pattern was easy to follow, well written and really was a joy to knit.  I loved how as you grew the lace pattern, you could see each design take its shape.  This is a pattern that could be considered an heirloom piece if you really wanted it to take on that look.

This is a very reasonably priced shawl pattern that is easily purchased off of Ravelry for your convince.  I can see this pattern being one that you might take to the lake for a long weekend of relaxing knitting on a porch or a small getaway to some place tropical.  The pattern calls for Fingering weight yarn, I know you all have a skein of yarn that you are not quite sure what to do with.  This is a great solution to a yarn that you might have only purchased one skein of or a special yarn that you might have picked up on a trip.  Either way, this is a summer knit that you do not want to miss out on.

Marigold Jen



Jenny Porter other wise known as Marigold Jen is our second review for this week.  I am so very pleased to be reviewing her yarn creations for you all, my readers.  So you know a bit more about Jen, I will fill you in.

Sewing is her true passion, but after learning how to dye fibers a couple of years ago, she has been hooked on the endless variations of color that swirl about in her dye pot. By day, Jen assist in a Montessori toddler classroom, but at night, She craft (or cuddle with my two cats and a good book).
Currently, she is taking THE leap and quitting her job to pursue the yarn dyeing business full time. Jen has made many new fiber/yarn loving friends, and in turn gained some great customers, which has given her the courage to dive in!

I am pleased to show you these next yarns that are a Marigold Jen original.  Pay close attention to what your eyes see at first glance, then take a second look and I bet you will not have the same image as the first!

Superwash Sock Yarn

These yarns are so unique in that what appears to be "it's coloring" is intertwined with a rainbow of colors that all some how blend together effortlessly.  I can not even begin to understand the time, effort and skill that must go into each of her dye coloring sessions.  All I can say is that her yarn is worth every penny when you are looking at color quality and uniqueness!

I am so pleased to be able to show case these fantastic and really unique creations that Jen has outdone herself on!  If you have never worked with such great colors, make a stop over to her Etsy Shop and pick up a skein or two today!

Tangerine Designs

I know that many of you have been introduced to Tangerine Designs before.  For those of you who have not had the chance to treat yourself to one of her Etsy shop items,

(Project bags, Stitch Markers, needle gauges and much more), today could be the day!

Casey is the creative designer who at the age of 31,  found a love of knitting.  At 32, she found she couldn't find sparkly stitch markers at a store in her area. So...Tangerine Designs was born out of the idea and need to give her knitting friends something fun for their knitting.  You will agree when you take a look at what she has to offer in the way of knitting accessories!

Casey was so gracious to send a project bag for the review.  The very first thing that you will notice is that she has an eye for color and design.  Each bag that she hand matches and desings has a theme or a color combination.  Just the right pop of color to really set off the bag as stylish.  Second, she has used a complementing canvas to reinforce the bottom of the square shaped bag.  It is perfect for knitting right out of the bag, it stands up and open ready to hold all its contents.  Each drawstring bag is lined with a complementing fabric that makes each side of the bag adorable.  I really appreciate the extra touch of a closure on the drawstring.  This insures that what you put in your project bag stayes right as you had intended.  Not all over, as some project bags tend to spill the contents of the bag.

Each bag is unique in that she has strategically placed a jump ring on the outside of the bag.  It opens and closes seamlessly with out snagging on anything.  You could clip your bag to a belt loop, clip it to a larger handled bag or even make your pattern into note cards and never loose your pattern again.  The possibilities are endless.  Casey has really gone the distance in considering what a 'Knitter' would want in a bag.

For you my readers, Casey has also included a Sheep Knitting Needle Gauge.  This compact needle gauge is a practical way to instantly know what size needle you are working with.  How many times have you omitted your needle gauge from your notions bag because it simply is to big and clunky to transport.  This is the perfect solution to this problem.  The Needle Gauge also doubles as a gauge counter with a 1 1/2 inc. ruler along the bottom.  ADORABLE!!
